Live and let live
let others live の others が省略されていて「自分も生き人も生かせ」が文字通りの意味のことわざです。CALD によれば
said to mean that people should accept the way other people live and behave, especially if they do things in a different way
とあります。
get the picture
picture の意味は「絵」「写真」「映画」といった具体的なものから発展して「心象（イメージ）」、さらに「事態、状況」といった抽象的なものに及びます。LDCE ではこの表現を簡潔に to understand a situation と定義しています。他に、この意味の picture を含む表現として put somebody in the picture があります。同じく LDCE によれば
to give someone all the information they need to understand a situation, especially one that is changing quickly
とあります。

つまり、「了解しました」といった意味です。

CALD では簡潔に in my opinion と定義しています。他に book を含むイディオムに次のものがあります。
suit somebody's book （人に都合がよい）
be in somebody's good/bad books（人に好かれている[嫌われている]）
lose one's head
head は「理性の所在するところ」であることから「冷静さ、落ち着き」にも通じます。そこから lose one's head は
to become unable to behave calmly or sensibly in a difficult or frightening situation - LDCE
となります。その反対は keep one's head です。

affair は重要な基本語ですが、その主な意味を挙げると「事柄」「事件｣「関心事、用事」「事務、業務」「事情、事態」「情事」。もちろん、この表現の affair は love affair のこと。
