「球場」
stadium の他に ball park ともいいます。
marry / get married
「…と結婚する」のように、目的語がある場合には marry を、目的語がない場合には get married を用います。「…と結婚する」は get married to という言い方もできますが、marry の方がふつうです。
see / watch
動いたり変化したりするものを「見る」ときには watch を用います。例えば、テレビ画面や、スポーツの試合などを見るときです。そして、watch にはある程度長い間見るという意味合いが含まれています。ただし、映画や芝居の公演を「見る」ときには watch ではなくふつう see を使います。
「許されていない」
他に、遠回しに言うときの表現として be not supposed to があります。
You are not supposed to take food and drink into the library.
（図書館に飲食物を持ち込むことは許されていない）- SAEJD
「故郷」
home や hometown を用います。ただし、hometown は「生まれ育った町」、または「子供時代を過ごした町」という意味なので、県や地方などの、町でない場所を指すことはできません。したがって、「私の故郷は青森県です」は次のように言います。（ * の付いている文は不可)
Aomori is my home prefecture.
My hometown is in Aomori (Prefecture). *My hometown is Aomori (Prefecture).
I'm [I come] from Aomori (Prefecture).
remember
「思い出す」の他に「覚えている、記憶している」「忘れずに…する」の意味があります。
I remember meeting her at a party once. - LDCE
＜remember Ving＞「…したことを覚えている」
Remember to take your P.E. clothes to school. - LDCE
＜remember to V＞「忘れずに…する」
「覚える、記憶する」は learn (by heart) や memorize です。
The actors hardly had time to learn their lines before filming started. - LDCE
また、remember より積極的な意味を持つ表現に bear [keep] something in mind（心に留めておく）があります。
Bear in mind that the price does not include flights. - LDCE
「難しい」
「…するのは人にとって難しい、人が…するのは難しい」は次のいずれかで表すことができます。
「朝6時に起きるのは私には大変です」
Getting up at 6 in the morning is very hard [difficult] for me.
It is very hard [difficult] for me to get up at 6 in the morning.
I find it very hard [difficult] to get up at 6 in the morning.
I have difficulty getting up at 6 in the morning.
「この前」
後に節を従えるときには＜the last time S + V＞の形になります。
The last time I saw him was Monday.
（この前彼に会ったのは月曜だった）- SAEJD
He looked well, (the) last time I saw him.
（この前会ったとき彼は元気そうに見えた）- SAEJD
「軽べつする」
despise の他に look down on という表現がありますが、LDCE では
to think that you are better than someone else, for example because you are more successful, or of a higher social class than they are
と定義しています。つまり、「対等視しない」⇒「見下す」ことをいいます。
Mr. Garcia looks down on anyone who hasn't had a college education. - LDCE
ちなみに、despise は CALD によれば
to feel a strong dislike for someone or something because you think they are bad or worthless
とあります。
